Eco-Friendly, STYLISH Handbags

This time of year we spend more time shopping and a great handbag is essential. These eco-friendly handbags made by Hemptress are well made and stylish!

What makes them eco-friendly? They are constructed with the following materials:
  • Hemp
  • Organic cotton
  • Recycled PET faux fur
  • Recycled leather
  • Recycled nylon zippers

Plus the great style and quality means you will be using it for years! Now the questions is, which one will you add to your Holiday wish list?? My favorite is the Mercedes Satchel in Terra Cotta!

Thanksgiving Turkey Inspiration...

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I will be taking a needed break from my computer. It is my favorite holiday - A relaxed, stress free holiday about family and food. I was playing around with feathers the other day and came up with this Feathery Flower. It reminds me of the paper plate turkeys we always made in elementary school. Not sure exactly how I want to use this new design... But I'm thinking big on a pillow would be gorgeous... What are your ideas??

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

I met Valerie Jardin a few years ago when she photographed one of my interior design projects. Since then I have become a fan of her work - check out her website "Valerie Jardin Photography". Valerie has a beautiful eye for detail and a unique perspective - here are a few of my favorites!

Eco-Friendly, GRAPHIC Wall Prints

Today as I was searching for an eco-friendly product to write about, I came across "Bold and Noble". They have created wonderful hand silk screen prints, which are printed on recycled card. I was taken in by the color and graphic nature of their prints. I think their work can speak for itself!

One pattern, infinite possibilities...

When I create a new pattern, I play with scale and proportion. I love the endless possibilities - this is one reason I enjoy designing patterns! Below are 3 rug designs using my Marathon Candy Bar inspired pattern. Of course there are so many more ways to use this pattern, plus infinite color combinations. These are only rug examples, but I imagine the pattern on bedding, drapery, pillows, or even a stripe down the middle of a chair. The pattern can be bold and contemporary or light and beachy, it is all in the scale and color combinations. What can you imagine?

Eco-Friendly LOVELY Table Decor

The Holidays are here and I'm sitting at my computer thinking about family and of course food! My personal style tends to be a combination of rustic and contemporary. That may sound like an oxymoron, but I love simple rustic charm with all the texture and nature... Then top that off with some more contemporary shapes, graphics, and of course color and that is my preferred style! I forgot - it must be eco-friendly as well! I fell in love with these beautiful eco-friendly tabletop ideas. I know they don't sing "Happy Holidays", but this way you can use them all year... Oh, I guess now I have to plan some Holiday meals...any ideas???

Beautiful Sustainable Jewelry

I'm always looking for interesting topics that combine great design with sustainability. Today interior designer Kimberly Rider, who also focuses on the environment, posted a link to Kirsten Muenster's beautiful jewelry. Her work is lovely and lead me to research eco-friendly jewelry designers. It is well known that I'm a fan of eco-friendly products, but I'm also a fan of well made, artist jewelry without extreme pricing. I was excited to find many jewelry designers who only use sustainable and recycled materials plus their price tags were quite reasonable. Here are a few that caught my eye.
