New Modern Wood Prints!

I've wanted to create a line of modern art prints for a long time. I finally came across the idea of printing on sustainably harvested maple veneer! Each print is finished with non-toxic wax for protection and sheen. This is just the start of the collection - designs are only limited by me so there will be many more coming quickly. Also customized prints with names and saying - send any ideas my way!

They are available in two sizes:
  • 5" x 7" image - Size with mat 8" x 10" - Archival mat included!
  • 8" x 10" image - Size with mat 11" x 14" - Archival mat included!
NO Frame is included at this time, but the prints are matted and fit in standard sized frames.

Modern Wood Prints make wonderful gifts at only $18 for 5" x 7" and $28 for the 8" x 10"!

Actual printed photos { Friday FUN }

I love my digital camera - I love editing and using my photos online, but I miss actual printed photos.  I know, I can print them, but it is not the same...  Remember dropping off your film and waiting for it to be developed?  The excitement of picking them up and looking through them as soon as you got into you car.  Okay, most of the photos were not great, but you could easily add them to your photo albums and look through them anytime.  Now everything is on our computers, phones, and cameras.  I rarely sit in front of my computer looking through family photos, but put an actual album in my hand and I LOVE it.  Somehow the ease of digital photography has made it more work to print and enjoy our photos.  A digital camera allows us to take a TON of photos - why not, we don't have to pay for the film any more.  So in order to even considering printing out a photo, I have to look through every photo, and of course edit each one to make them as perfect as possible.  This is a lot of work and overwhelming because of the number of years I've been using a digital camera.  Anyway, today I was browsing Pinterest and  found some great, simple ways to display photos - no frames or perfection, just simple snapshots.  I'm going to make it a point to start printing some photos so I can reminisce outside of my computer...

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm LOVING art created on chalkboards!  It is so dramatic and graphic.  The best thing is that the art can constantly change!

Eco-Friendly Sculpture {Unexpected, Emotional, Stunning}

I ran across this amazing sculpture by artist Gretchen Ten Eyck Hunt's, which was created with 14-gauge electric fence wire. The wire medium was obtained in an unusual way, her blind mare accidentally stuck her head under the wire fence, pulling out 300 linear feet of wire. The horse was not seriously injured, but Gretchen was left with the tangled wire and the emotion from the accident. She did a beautiful job transforming her emotions and the tangled wire into a stunning piece of art!

Eco-Friendly, GRAPHIC Wall Prints

Today as I was searching for an eco-friendly product to write about, I came across "Bold and Noble". They have created wonderful hand silk screen prints, which are printed on recycled card. I was taken in by the color and graphic nature of their prints. I think their work can speak for itself!
