Furnishing an entire home is hard...  Finding quality at the right price is difficult and when you add eco-friendly it feels near impossible.  I was so happy to find this bed on Overstock - see it here!  It is made of solid rubberwood, which is eco-friendly because it is the wood of the rubber tree once the tree is finished producing rubber.  I love the style of this bed - it is rustic and modern at the same time.  It is a platform bed so it saves money because we don't need a box spring.  And to top it off the price is only $422 for a queen and it has 81 reviews all with 5 stars!  Love this bed so much I'm ordering 3!

All winged out { Friday FUN Find }

I'm in LOVE with modern, over-sized, high back wing chairs - they are so dramatic and fun!  Several weeks ago I spotted one with a script alphabet fabric at T.J. Maxx, then a few days later I noticed a similar chair in NBC's Revenge.  Then I found a few more...  I would love to see this "Loren" chair from Vielle and Frances covered in one of my fabrics OR maybe I will create a new fabric with some sort of script!  Better yet, I may even design my own high back wing chair!

Actual printed photos { Friday FUN }

I love my digital camera - I love editing and using my photos online, but I miss actual printed photos.  I know, I can print them, but it is not the same...  Remember dropping off your film and waiting for it to be developed?  The excitement of picking them up and looking through them as soon as you got into you car.  Okay, most of the photos were not great, but you could easily add them to your photo albums and look through them anytime.  Now everything is on our computers, phones, and cameras.  I rarely sit in front of my computer looking through family photos, but put an actual album in my hand and I LOVE it.  Somehow the ease of digital photography has made it more work to print and enjoy our photos.  A digital camera allows us to take a TON of photos - why not, we don't have to pay for the film any more.  So in order to even considering printing out a photo, I have to look through every photo, and of course edit each one to make them as perfect as possible.  This is a lot of work and overwhelming because of the number of years I've been using a digital camera.  Anyway, today I was browsing Pinterest and  found some great, simple ways to display photos - no frames or perfection, just simple snapshots.  I'm going to make it a point to start printing some photos so I can reminisce outside of my computer...

Friday FUN Find { Norman Cherner }

Ahhh the beauty of a Norman Cherner chair...  I found these at Cherner - I just love them!!!  So modern and today even though they were designed in 1958.  They are reissued from the original drawings and molds, strong, lightweight and like the original, made entirely in the U.S.A.  Just beautiful!!!

I love these prints, available on Etsy or as DIY projects, on old book pages. The screenprint can be transferred to fabric for DIY textiles and pillows. Infinite possibilities. So fun!

 

This chandelier is such a sunny splash of color. I love the amber/yellow beads. This might make for a good DIY copycat project. Love it!

 

Love the yellow velvet button tufted sofa but the real finds are the pet silhouettes. I love silhouettes and think including the family pet (or fur person) makes for charming art.

 

A custom painted wall is a great bedroom design idea. A little tape, some paint and a level is all you need to make it. Beyond the wall, love the large vintage lamps next to the bed. So chic.

 

Okay, last yellow find... but I love this cabinet from Ikea. It would be great in an entry for shoe storage, the kitchen as a pantry or china cupboard, the bathroom... so many places.

 

Love a simple but oh so pretty DIY project. These paper pumpkin shaped lanterns are so chic and easy to make! Perfect for a sophisticated fall party or Halloween.

Birds are such a hot interior design element that doesn't seem to be fading in interest or charm. I love these owls that follow the bird trend but feel more original. Beautiful artwork.

 

Another beautiful paper project, this wreath is made from book pages. A great use for that marked up copy of The Great Gatsby or an outdated textbook or encyclopedia. I'm feeling a little melancholy today...  Fall is upon us, which means saying goodbye to Summer and welcoming cooler crisper days.  And for some reason it always leave me longing for simpler times - a time where life was less crazy and we had coffee with our neighbors - a time before cell phones and computer - a time when kitchen tools were manual and food was more wholesome.  So today I thought it would be FUN to share some of my favorite vintage, turquoise kitchen tools.
