Launching an affordable online store!!

Since I started designing fabrics and rugs, I've been dreaming of creating an affordable line, which I could offer through an online store.  Well, here it is!!  Over the last few weeks I have been designing my new online store, which currently features my new Summer patterns by the yard, flat weave wool rugs, and sample pillows.  I will be adding photography for the rugs as soon as I receive the samples.  Also I will be adding pillows, placemats, shower curtains...  Great thing is I can still offer CUSTOM colors for a small upcharge!

Let me know what you think - I would LOVE feedback and suggestions!!

Just a quick "Sneak Peek" of a pattern, which will be in my new line of wool flat weave rugs.  This one is called Zebra.  It will be several weeks before I have actual samples, but I just had to share!  This new line will be fresh, bright, and affordable - inspired by easy beach living!

NEW Pattern Wednesday - HELP it needs a name!

I created this new pattern, but I can't think of a name!  It is FUN and has great movement.  It would be great as a fabric or a rug - small or large scale.  Can anyone think of a creative name?  Please HELP!!

Starting my Summer Collection with FREEWAY inspiration!

About a month ago we took a road trip to Florida...  I know we are crazy - 24 hours of driving with 3 kids...  Anyway, while driving through Atlanta I was struck by an interesting inspiration - it was the brick wall along the freeway.  I really love the shapes and how they lace together.  It would be great as a small modern fabric pattern or a fun rug!  It is fresh and Summery with a bit of a Moroccan flare, and a great start to my Summer Collection!

LOST Media Consoles!!!

I was looking through my old computer and forgot that I designed these great TV consoles over 2 years ago!!! The designs are clean & modern. I plan to use reclaimed or FSC wood and 3Form Varia Ecoresin. It is fun to look back and say "Wow, these are really cool designs!! Why didn't I ever have these made?!" What do you think? Next week I will share some cute custom side tables...

Inspiration Monday { Spring fashion!! }

Today I've been struggling to find some great inspiration for my Spring fabric colors... Then all of a sudden, I remembered watching "What Not to Wear", and a visit to a Trina Turk boutique. I know she has a great eye for color & pattern, so I decided to check out Trina's new Spring arrivals. I was immediately drawn to the "Kerry" dress! The colors are alive & bright without being overly done. Perfect colors for Spring, plus my dark graphite, light blue/gray, and white, which I'm already committed to, are included in the pattern - YEAH! What do you think? Does fashion overlap into interior colors trends! I say YES!! Now if I could only get that dress...

Brainstorm Wednesday { color palette }

I'm still brainstorming a new color palette for my Spring printed fabric introductions. Earlier this week I order a new rug pattern, which contains dark gray, light blue/gray, and natural. These are NOT ground breaking colors, but I LOVE the dark gray versus the espresso brown, which has becoming ordinary and predictable. The natural color is same color as the organic canvas ground cloth in my fabrics. These 3 colors will also be included in my new fabrics along with 3+ additional colors. Another major color constraint is a large sectional in my studio (it is a paprika color) - ideally the new color palette should coordinate with the sectional, but also freshen it up... This is what I've come up with so far :) What do you you think? I colorized one of my patterns to give you an idea. Keep in mind that your screen colors could look totally different than mine... The colors can come across as bright & cheery or subdued & calming depending on the color combination - this is a great exercise for me and really helps me to visualize a new palette!

PURE Color Inspirations { grays, lime yellow, hot pink }

Today, I was looking for color inspiration! My Spring 2011 0rganic fabrics still need color... too many choices... The color scheme below is not what I will be printing, but I wanted to demonstrate how my fabrics and rugs can be colored to go with any color scheme. It is so fun and easy! My patterns could just plop into these rooms and coordinate perfectly! The room photos are from Benjamin Moore's "Spirited" Color Pallet - the colors are bright and on trend with the grays, hot pink, and lime yellow. I'm really loving the way the white and gray calms down the bright, vibrant colors. The brights may not be quite so overwhelming, but they still make a strong statement!
